Foreword
This article explores who Lord Yeshua truly is and His unique relationship with God the Father. It explains that God the Father is the one, true, almighty, and invisible God, while Lord Yeshua is His visible manifestation — first in the angelic realm of the Old Testament and later in flesh and blood on earth. Lord Yeshua is not God the Father, but the exact image of the Father, sent to reveal Him to humanity and to lead creation. This makes it clear that worship of creation is subordinate to the worship of the one Creator, God the Father.
Lord Yeshua created everything through the power (i.e., the Spirit) of the One, True, and Almighty God the Father. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Lord Yeshua. God the Father no longer acts directly; all power has been entrusted to Lord Yeshua (Matthew 28:18).
Lord Yeshua had a “beginning” (see Proverbs 8:22 and John 1:1). Therefore, He is not God the Father Himself, but a manifestation of God the Father.
God the Father has no beginning and exists outside time, space, and matter. He is from everlasting to everlasting (see Psalm 90:2). God the Father is not in heaven in a spatial sense, because when He created the heavens and the earth, He had to exist outside of them. He is the one and only Almighty and True God, and He is invisible (see 1 John 4:12). God the Father is Spirit (John 4:24), and therefore has no flesh and bones (Luke 24:39).
1 John 4:12 (ESV)
No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
1 Timothy 1:17 (ESV)
To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Because God the Father is invisible, the God whom our brother Moses saw from behind on Mount Sinai/Horeb could not have been God the Father Himself.
Exodus 33:21–23 (ESV)
21 And the LORD said, “Behold, there is a place by Me where you shall stand on the rock,
22 and while My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen.”
So who is this visible God
Who is this visible God who says, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14)?
Lord Yeshua says in John 8:58: “I am.” The visible God (YHVH) of the Old Testament identified Himself as “I AM WHO I AM,” so the God of the OT is none other than Lord Yeshua Himself. He appeared in a body like that of angels. This was the first manifestation of God the Father in His creation, through Lord Yeshua, in the angelic realm.
Hebrews 1:3 (ESV)
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by
the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
God the Father Made Visible through Lord Yeshua
Later, in the time of the New Testament, God the Father made Himself visible again — this time in flesh and blood on earth — through Lord Yeshua. This was the second manifestation of God the Father in His creation. In both manifestations, Lord Yeshua is the exact spiritual imprint of God the Father. Hence the name Immanuel: “God with us.”
The invisible God the Father was made visible through Lord Yeshua — both in the angelic realm of the Old Testament and in the time of the New Testament on earth. In this way, the invisible God the Father revealed Himself to His creation. Lord Yeshua came to make God the Father known to us. That which is invisible and incomprehensible can only be understood when it is revealed and explained.
John 1:18 (ESV)
No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is at the Father’s side, He has made Him known.
Colossians 1:15 (ESV)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Philippians 2:6 (ESV)
Who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (ESV)
In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel
of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Lord Yeshua is One Spirit with God the Father
Lord Yeshua is not God the Father; He is, in Spirit, the imprint of God the Father. Whoever sees Lord Yeshua sees God the Father in physical form.
Lord Yeshua is one Spirit with God the Father (Col 2 9).
Colossians 2:9
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
Compare this with Lord Yeshua in us: although He dwells in us, we are not Lord Yeshua Himself. Yet we are one Spirit with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17). In the same way, Lord Yeshua is one Spirit with God the Father, but He is not the Father Himself. God the Father has no God above Him, but Lord Yeshua does: God the Father (Psalm 45:7).
.
Psalm 45:7 (ESV)
You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.
Revelation 3:14 (ESV)
And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: “The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness,
the beginning of God’s creation.”
Lord Yeshua, Firstborn of Creation
Lord Yeshua is the firstborn Son of creation, the first thing God the Father “created” (Gen 1:3).
Genesis 1:3 (ESV)
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Compare this to the creation of Eve: just as Eve was taken from Adam and became his helper, Lord Yeshua was taken from God and became His Helper and Executor. This Spirit was given a spiritual (angelic) body. Lord Yeshua is “God” from God the Father. He is therefore called Son — not to indicate lineage, but to signify a very close, familial relationship. In the case of Lord Yeshua, this refers to His relationship with God the Father. God the Father called Lord Yeshua His beloved Son, which means:
Spirit from Spirit! God from God.
In other words, “God the Son” from “God the Father.”
Compare this also with the creation of Eve: just as Eve was taken from Adam and became his helper, so Lord Yeshua was taken from God and became His Helper and Executor. To this Spirit was given a spiritual (angelic) body. Lord Yeshua is “God” from God the Father. He is therefore called Son — not to indicate lineage, but to describe someone with a very close, familial relationship with another. In the case of Lord Yeshua, this relationship is with God the Father. God the Father called Lord Yeshua His beloved Son, which means: the first in all things.
Proverbs 8:22 (NETS – Septuagint)
The Lord created me as the beginning of His ways, for the sake of His works.
Psalm 8:6 (ESV)
Yet You have made him a little lower than the angels
and crowned him with glory and honor.
Note: The word “angels” in Psalm 8:6 is a mistranslation. In the original manuscripts, the word is not “angels” but “Elohim”! The same Elohim from Genesis 1:1. At the end of all things (after the final judgment), Lord Yeshua will submit Himself to God the Father (1 Corinthians 15:28).
1 Corinthians 15:28 (ESV)
When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subjected to Him
who put all things in subjection under Him, that God may be all in all.
Lord Yeshua is therefore the executor of all the work of God the Father. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Lord Yeshua. God the Father Himself now does nothing except through the Son (Matthew 28:18).
The Revelation of God the Father through Lord Yeshua
God the Father is love. If nothing existed, there would be nothing to love — hence creation. But if God the Father remains invisible to His creation, how can creation know Him? In the time of the Old Testament — and even today — many do not know the Only True God (John 17:3). Therefore, they believe many falsehoods.
To make Himself known and visible to His creation, God the Father was made visible through His beloved Son, Yeshua — both in heaven and on earth.
ABOVE “GOD THE SON” STANDS “GOD THE FATHER”.
The God revealed in the Old Testament is God the Son. God the Father was not known during Old Testament times. Even the angels did (do) not know who God the Father is.
1Peter1:12
12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.
Satan rebelled against “God the Son”, not against God the Father. Satan is Anti-Messiah, not Anti-God.
Key Points
1. Only the Father is the One True God
John 17:3
“Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.”
Jesus distinguishes between “You” (the Father) and Himself, identifying the Father as the only true God.
1 Corinthians 8:6
“Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ…”
One God = the Father.
One Lord = Jesus — clearly two distinct roles.
1 Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is mediator, not God Himself. He stands between God and man/creation.
2. Jesus Is Subordinate to the Father
John 14:28
“The Father is greater than I.”
Lord Yeshua plainly states the Father is greater — not just in role, but in nature.
1 Corinthians 15:27–28
“The Son Himself will also be made subject to Him who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all.”
Lord Yeshua remains subject to the Father — even after all things are restored.
Psalm 45:7 (quoted in Hebrews 1:9)
“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you…”
Even as exalted, Lord Yeshua is said to have a God over Him.
3. No One Has Seen God the Father
John 1:18
“No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has made Him known.”
1 John 4:12
“No one has ever seen God…”
Moses and others saw “God” in the OT — but these verses say no one has ever seen the Father.
Therefore, the God seen in the OT must have been someone other than the Father — likely Yeshua in visible form.
4. Jesus Existed Before Creation — But Had a Beginning
Colossians 1:15
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”
“Firstborn” implies a starting point; Lord Yeshua is the first creation, not uncreated.
Revelation 3:14
“The beginning of the creation of God.”
Lord Yeshua Himself says He is the beginning of God’s creation — not eternal with no origin.
Proverbs 8:22 (LXX)
“The Lord created me as the beginning of His ways, for His works.”
Traditionally interpreted by early believers as referring to pre-incarnate Wisdom = Christ.
5. Jesus is the Image / Representation of God — Not God Himself
Hebrews 1:3
“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature…”
An imprint is not the original — Lord Yeshua reflects God, He is not the invisible, eternal One Himself.
Colossians 1:15
“He is the image of the invisible God…”
Image ≠ identical being. Lord Yeshua reveals God, He is not the invisible God.
2 Corinthians 4:4
“…Christ, who is the image of God…”
6. Jesus Is Called “Lord,” Not Almighty God
Acts 2:36
“God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
God made Yeshua Lord — He was appointed, not inherently Almighty God.
Philippians 2:9–11
“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place…”
He was exalted by God — showing a subordinate position.
7. There Is Only One God: The Father
Malachi 2:10
“Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us?”
Isaiah 64:8
“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you our potter…”
Deuteronomy 6:4
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
The consistent biblical witness is that God is one — and
identified as the Father.
